A double post today, to make up for missing yesterday. I want to share a simple moment that fills me with breath taking gratitude.

My oldest daughter, who moved out last year and is now living in New Westminster with her wonderful boyfriend, called to invite herself over for dinner. Sarah wanted to hang out with us. On  a Friday night. Now how wonderful is that?

I must have done something right if this brilliant, funny, and independent young woman who is pursing her PhD wants to spend her Friday night with her parents and her grandmother. How blessed are we?

I made a lovely dinner, we had a glass of wine and played cards with her Gram, who loves nothing more that a nice competitive game of Smear, her favourite card game.

Time. Such a simple blessing. So precious, so easily wasted, and so often just wished  away. Please take the time to enjoy the people in your life, and the things that bring you joy. If you’re not careful, they might all just disappear in a blink of an eye.
